  1. Prague Castle- Dating back to the 9th century this castle has been home to the kings of Bohemia and the Holy Roman Emperors. 2. Charles Bridge- Built in 1357 this historic bridge spans the Vltava River. The bridge is made from massive stones supported by 16 arches. The bridge connects Old Town to the Prague Castle and the Lesser Quarter area.
  3. Prague Jewish Museum- This museum is one of the most popular museums in Prague. It has one of the world’s largest collections of books and objects on the Jewish religion. In a strange twist, the Nazis took over control of the museum in 1906 to preserve artifacts from synagogues that were destroyed by the Nazis. The intent was to collect these things as a museum of “an extinct race.”
  4. Konopiste Castle- The Konopiste Castle is a famous castle due to the fact it was the final residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. It is a three-story chateau located just outside of Prague. Archduke Ferdinand’s assassination was the major catalyst for the start of World War I. 9. Old-New Synagogue- Completed around 1270 this is Europe’s oldest working synagogue. It is also one of Prague’s earliest Gothic buildings. Men must wear a yamaka which are handed out before you enter. There is a separate room for women to watch the services as the hall is for men only. A very mythical and Gothic looking place.
