South African Airways First Class Flights
South African Airways offers both business and first class seating depending on the flight. They offer an a la carte menu and proudly serve a South African cheese board with selected wines to accompany the cheese.
Passengers receive an amenity bag stocked with travel necessities and indulgent cosmetics and each seat comes with power and USB chargers. Noise cancellation headsets help block out the cabin noise allowing you to watch your favourite movie uninterrupted.
When it comes to rest, their first class long haul seats lie completely flat at 180 degrees. The seats are made of fine leather and fabric and they provide a duvet with large down pillows and a padded seat cover for extra comfort.
Business Class customers travelling on their new A330-300 also get a new seat design to become a flat-bed that is almost 2 meters long when fully extended. All have individual aisle access and increased privacy.
First Class seats are not offered on short-haul flights and you will have to take a re-designed Business Class seat. The headrest is adjustable with adaptable ear buds, nice legroom with leg rests and a coat hook to hang your sport coat.
Each Business Class seat also has ample storage and comes with its own USB and laptop charging outlets.
On long haul flights their Business Class seats offer the ability to get a great night’s sleep in SA Airways forward-facing flat beds. They are 21” wide with a 73” seat pitch. It is designed as an overnight mattress and includes a duvet and full size pillow.
Their business class configuration for short haul flights is in a 2-2-2 configuration which means window seat passengers don’t have easy aisle access.
South Africa is known for having a strong tradition of producing some of the best wines in the world. SA Airways exclusively serves South African wines on board their flights. There are 24 white and 24 red wines to choose from.
SA Airways offers access to several of their lounges throughout the world at different airports. The Maple Leaf departure lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2 and Johannesber’s dedicated SAA Lounge are their two signature lounges which offer food and wine selections as well as a place where you can shower, have a meeting or have your suit pressed.
