Business class travel is becoming more popular with consumers largely due to the expansion of business class cabin amenities and upgrading business class seats. Business class cabin amenities include a wider, more comfortable business class seat, excellent food, and premium entertainment. Business class cabin amenities are a great way to try out the luxuries offered in the forward cabin without paying the higher price of the first class cabin. The wider business class seat is just the beginning of the luxuries offered in business class.

At the Airport

Business class passengers can use the premier traveler lines at the check-in counter and through security checks. These lines are always shorter, have minimal wait times and are staffed by veteran employees who can move you through the line and to your destination quickly. The premiere traveler lines are very short and move quickly through security checks as well. At the check-in counter, business class travelers can check additional luggage without incurring an additional fee and you can take more carry on bags too. The number of bags permitted and the weights allowed vary based on aircraft, season, and destination, so check the United website for exact requirements before you arrive at the airport.

After check-in and security, business class passengers can stop in at one of United’s club lounges or Polaris lounge. The attendant at the lounge will check you in and keep track of any changes or delays to your flight. If you have work to finish, need to make phone calls, write emails, or even want to plan a few more sights to see on your vacation, these lounges offer a nice, quiet get-away from the noise and congestion of the airport. The lounges are luxurious, quiet, and professional. They offer full meals, snacks, alcohol, soda machines, cold water, and even have shower rooms stocked with high-end grooming products. The service attendants will let you know if your flight is delayed or affected by any other changes. Once at your gate, you pre-board and get settled in your seat before other passengers, again no waiting or rushing.

About United

United Airlines has been flying “the Friendly Skies’ for 92 years. United’s first flight was from Pasco, Washington to Boise, Idaho in 1926. Walter T. Varney founded Varney Air Lines in 1926 and Varney Speed Lines in 1934 which would eventually become United Airlines and Continental Airlines.

The United 247 airplane could cross North America in a single night and was the first modern airliner.

United pioneered the hiring of female flight attendants in 1930. All of the first United flight attendants were registered nurses as well. Male flight attendants began working for United in 1950 on flights between Hawaii and the U.S. mainland. United created the first flight kitchen in 1936. The first meal served on a United plane was a choice of fried chicken or scrambled eggs.

United became the first airline to form a global alliance with Lufthansa, Air Canada, SAS and Thai International via the Star Alliance. United is the third largest airline in the world. United collects more “ancillary” revenue than any airline in the world.

United does not believe in beards or facial hair for the crew. Mustaches may not extend more than a ¼ inch below the sides of the mouth. And, oddly enough, fingernails have certain restrictions like, “may be no longer than ½ inch long”.
