Asiana Airlines First Class Cabins
Asiana is heavily focused on being an environmentally friendly company. They were one of the first airlines to completely ban in-flight smoking and cigarette sales back in 1995. This seems like a no brainer but back in 1995, it was unheard of to ban smoking on flights. They really were ahead of their time.
Asiana Airlines Recognition and Ratings
In 2001, Asiana Airlines was recognized by the South Korean Ministry of Environment for being the “first environmentally friendly company within the service industry”. On the lighter side of eco friendliness, they have partnered with the Rainforest Alliance for their coffee served on board.
Asiana Airlines is rated a 5 Star airline by Skytrak. They were named the best airline in the world by Skytrak at the 2010 World Airline Awards. They came in second behind Qatar Airways in 2011 and 2012.
Asiana Airlines Destinations and Hubs
Asiana Airlines serves destinations on four continents. Asia is an important part of Asiana’s success. They fly to China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Central Asia. The airline also flies to major gateway cities in North America and Europe.
Asiana Cargo which is fully owned and operated by Asiana Airlines is their carbo subsidiary and has a large presence in the United States and Europe. They also have launched Air Seoul which is their low-cost carrier based out of Incheon International Airport.
Asiana Airlines Fleets
Asiana has a total of 83 planes in service with another 47 on order. They are a combination of Airbus and Boeing planes.
Asiana Airlines Classes and Amenities
Asiana Airlines offers five classes of services starting with First Suite Class, First Class, Business Smartium Class, Business Class and Travel (economy) Class.
First Suite Class is offered on their A380-800 planes which serves routes to Frankfurt, Los Angeles, New York City and Sydney. First Class is available on their Boeing 747-400’s. Both First Suite and old First Class were available on Boeing 777’s but has been removed in favor of a two-class configuration. Passengers in these classes are offered pajamas, souvenirs and amenity kits with skin cream, eye shades, earplugs and toothpaste.
First class seats are all fully flat beds with personal AVOD systems. Meals can be ordered 48 hours ahead of time off their website menus. They focus on healthy dinners with beautiful colors and nutritional balance. They are prepared in association with the Institute of Korean Royal Cuisine.
Meals on First Class are prepared in affiliation with the Institute of Korean Royal Cuisine which is focused on traditional Korean cuisine. They also partner with La Cucina which is a known leader of Italian cuisine in Korea. All these meals are accompanied by some of the finest wines in the world selected by their professional sommeliers.
