KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Business Class Cabins
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines offers excellent business class cabin amenities. The airline recently completed renovations on their fleet, introducing the New World Business Class. These updated business class seats lay completely flat, providing enough privacy for passengers to sleep soundly during the flight. With a business class seat that transforms into a lengthy bed, KLM’s New World Business Class is a smart choice for your next vacation. The luxuries extend beyond the seat itself, beginning from the moment you arrive at the airport.
At the Airport
Business class passengers receive priority treatment, starting with preferred check-in lines at the ticket counter and through security. These lines are typically shorter and move faster than those for economy passengers. Travelers in business class can check in more baggage without facing extra fees. They also enjoy increased carry-on limits. While this benefit may vary depending on aircraft, season, and destination, passengers are usually allowed an extra checked bag and a higher weight limit.
After clearing check-in and security, passengers can access the exclusive airport lounges. These lounges provide a welcome escape from the airport’s hustle and bustle. You can enjoy a drink at the bar, grab a hot meal, or pick up a favorite snack or dessert. An attendant checks your ticket and keeps you updated about gate changes or flight delays. These lounges offer spa-like shower rooms, luxury toiletries, and even services like massages, haircuts, and clothes pressing.
You’ll also find quiet areas to charge electronics or catch up on work. Many travelers plan ahead to spend extra time in the lounge because of these great perks.
Aircraft Cabin Amenities
Business class passengers board early and can recline their seats fully for maximum comfort and privacy. The meals are top-notch, drinks are complimentary, and luxury touches like blankets and eye masks add extra comfort. You’ll have access to unlimited movies and reading materials to enhance your in-flight experience.
KLM recently completed a full transformation of their business class cabins. The new seats are designed for both work and rest, ensuring you arrive feeling refreshed and alert. The fleet upgrade includes full-flat seats in all Boeing 787, 777, 747, and A330 aircraft.
KLM Business Class Seats and Cabin Layout
KLM’s Boeing 787, 777, and 747 aircraft feature seats that convert into completely horizontal beds. These lie-flat seats range from 2.00 to 2.07 meters long—some of the longest in the air.
On the Boeing 787, every seat offers direct aisle access. Large windows allow you to enjoy the view, even from non-window seats. The Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 use a 2-2-2 seat configuration, ensuring that each passenger has either a window or an aisle seat. The Boeing 747 features a 2-2 layout on both decks. Seats include shoe storage, touchscreen seat controls, and power outlets to charge your devices.
KLM Business Class Cabin Interior and Entertainment
Dutch designer Hella Jongerius created the warm, welcoming interior of the business class cabins. Passengers receive comfort bags designed by Jan Taminiau, available in male and female versions with six unique designs in 12 colors.
The cabin design balances luxury and functionality, transforming into a mini office or entertainment space. Business class passengers can enjoy onboard WiFi on all Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The Boeing 777 and A330 fleets are also in the process of being upgraded with WiFi.
Each seat comes with a large entertainment screen. The Boeing 787 offers a 17-inch screen with over 1000 hours of multilingual entertainment. Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 planes currently have 15-inch and 10.4-inch screens, but all aircraft are expected to receive upgrades.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Business Class: Premium In-Flight Dining Experience
On KLM flights departing from Amsterdam, passengers enjoy meals prepared by top Dutch chefs. The menus change regularly and feature seasonal dishes inspired by various destinations. On select flights, the “Anytime for You” service allows passengers to order food on demand. This includes five additional dishes on top of the regular three-course meal.
These dishes range from hot to cold, savory to sweet, and include healthy options. Meals are presented restaurant-style whenever the passenger chooses. Marcel Wanders, a renowned Dutch designer, created 40 unique porcelain, cutlery, and glassware items for the dining experience.
Dutch wine specialists curated the onboard wine list to complement the inflight menu. Wines from around the world are chosen specifically to pair with the business class dishes.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Business Class Cabins: Keepsake Delft Blue Houses
